Ian Ford – Rest in Peace
Ian Ford – 15th March 1966 - 10th October 2023 aged 57

It is with great sadness that we have learned today that our Qualified Operative and valued team member, Ian Ford sadly lost his battle with Cancer in the early hours of this morning.

Ian joined QMS in April 2019 together with his son Jack. Having had no previous knowledge of the Road Marking or Surface Treatment industry, they both embarked on the QMS training programme and made a fantastic Father & Son team within the Company.

Ian was born with the old-school ways of hard work and a “will-do” attitude. Never was there a job that he wouldn’t get stuck into, with everything he had!

In December 2021, after a short spell of painful legs, he was sadly diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer, later amended to Cancer of the Liver. Despite many months of treatment and an extremely positive attitude and mind-set, the Cancer became terminal and sadly took Ian from his wife, Bridget and his fabulous children.

Many will remember the support from staff at QMS last year as we all participated in the charity fundraising of “Movember” where we proudly raised over £2,600 for the charity with QMS matching the total raised and donated this to Ian and Bridget.

During Ian’s time at QMS, he proved himself to be an extremely valuable and well respected individual where everybody was happy to have him in their team, he will be very deeply missed.

It is an extremely sad moment when a fit and healthy person is unfairly taken from this world far too early, with so much life left to live.

I am sure that you will join me in sending best wishes and thoughts to Bridget and the family at this sad and difficult time.

Rest in Peace now Ian, the memories you helped to make will remain cemented in time.

Managing Director
