QMS is proud to sponsor Dillon Howells in the next stages of his career, as he embarks on a journey with Team GB.

Dillon has been a personal friend of mine for over twenty years, in fact he is more than a friend, he is like my second son! He is the son of one of my closest friends and although from a different part of the country, has grown up alongside my own children into this amazing young man and competitive athlete.

Seeing Dillon progress through school and university to embark on his career as an architect has been fantastic, to see him excel in the athletic world of Aqua Biking alongside his chosen career path has been extremely exciting!

When I heard that he was ranked 7th in the UK and 32nd in the world and was looking for sponsorship to help him compete in the European and World Championships in 2024, I was more than happy to step in and offer the support of QMS.

Seeing the “Superman” QMS emblazoned on the front of a Team GB shirt for Dillon is pretty amazing!

We are looking forward to cheering Dillon on throughout his pre-championship races and to seeing him across the finish line in Portugal and Spain in the summer of ’24. - Greg Clark MD

Ringing the Bell of Glory

Hi I'm Dillon. I am a Team GB Age-Group athlete selected to represent the team in the 2024 season in the sport of Aqua-Bike. I am usually known for doing crazy events like this one time when I thought would be a good idea to run a 100km event in the middle of the tri season!

So where did it all begin... It started when I was at university with cycling. I picked up a road bike for £200 and signed myself up for the "Ride London" 100-mile ride. This was by no means easy and meant I had to curb the 'uni' lifestyle and start my journey of getting fit!

My progression into multi-sport wasn't what you would consider normal. My employer asked if I would like to participate in a duathlon on Friday (it was Thursday when they asked) stupidly I said yes (I hadn't run in 3 years), but I loved it and was instantly hooked!

I wanted more and I instantly signed up for a triathlon and me being me, I also signed up for a Centurion (100 mile run). I got to the end (just), rang the bell of glory, and was immediately booking the next race!

Racing ahead

With a tight training program trying to fit in with work and starting my university degree. I've been training harder than ever pushing the boundaries and racing more and more.

I decided to give my legs some rest and started with Aqua-Bike, (1.9km Swimming and 40km Bike ride) it turns out that when I don't run I'm very quick and got to the end thinking I had just completed another race only to be told that not only have I finished, I have qualified for the Team-GB team for elite men in my age group!

2024 is going to be a big year for me. I am looking to finish my master's degree in architecture whilst working full time and maintaining my training as I will be in Malaga at the World Championships giving it my all and hoping that I will bring back a gold for Team GB!

None of this would be possible within the help, support and sponsorship from QMS.
