More news from the QMS office

QMS head office has been a buzz with activity this month, from completing a range of projects to celebrating birthdays and everything in between.

Movements on the M40

QMS have secured a massive project working on the M40 for Egis, where we will be installing our award-winning Hyperline™ system, road studs and lettering on all of the entry and exit slip roads from Junction 1 to Junction 15!

The whole team are really excited about this amazing opportunity to bring our enhanced road markings to the users of the busy M40. Follow the journey across our socials!

Birthday Celebrations

Wishing the 'main man', Ralph Clark, a very Happy Birthday on the 22nd of February!

February also brought the birthdays of crew supervisor Joe and operative Lee.

We all hope you had amazing days and enjoyed celebrating with your families.

Where has Greg been this month?

Greg Clark, the brains behind QMS and the proud owner of 'that' QMS superhero shirt, has been out of the office for parts of this month, attending the ATSSA - American Traffic Safety Services Association. Here are his key takeaways and thoughts on the event:

"It's always a great event to visit, with so many different innovations and ideas around, especially in the field of line marking. The opening session started off with recognition of those who had stood out from the crowd within the sector, followed by the very sombre moment of reflection of those who had sadly lost their lives whilst working on the highway throughout the United States of America.

"Throughout the event I saw some of the latest technology for line marking, including:

✔️ Wet-night visibility testing prototype from our good friends at RoadVista (where our LaserLux LLG7 machine used within our LifeLineTM process is manufactured)

✔️ Fully automated robotic line marking symbol applicator (removing people from the carriageway and installing fully covered markings with retro-reflectivity to the exact dimensions of the traffic signs manual) this actually went on to win the 'Innovation of the Show' award. I look forward to seeing this system develop further and who knows, maybe it will make its way across the Atlantic at some point…

✔️ A virtual reality training unit - Hog Technologies has developed a fully VR system for training road marking operatives on their line marking machines. I was keen to give it a go and was happy with the result, especially as I've not been an operator on a machine for many years!

"During the show, we took the opportunity to take our LaserLux LLG7 Retro-Reflectometer to RoadVista for service and calibration, ahead of the forthcoming season where we already have four networks secured for line marking retro-reflectivity testing, due to start in March.

"The ATSSA weekend was very well supported with over 4,000 attendees and exhibitors, next year the event is being held in Orlando and I look forward to seeing the further advances in road marking technology then."

The fun didn't stop there...

Where's next for Greg? This time with Liam

Straight off of his flight from San Diego, Greg was joined by Liam and it was time to attend the annual RSMA conference.

"Straight back from ATSSA and up to Chesford Grange Hotel in Warwickshire for the RSMA annual conference. This was a fantastic event, and we got to meet colleagues and friendly competitors from within the industry and pick up on some useful information from the sector.

"The day was filled with presentations covering collaboration, fairness and inclusion, recruitment within road marking, highway challenges and men’s mental health & wellbeing."
