Liam and Greg set off to explore the Hofmann Expo in Hamburg, Germany. The Hofmann Expo is known to be the world’s biggest trade fair and conference for road marking technology in theory and practice.

To start the morning off correctly Greg and Liam had a lovely breakfast and took a refreshing walk to the event in eager anticipation of what the expo had to offer.

It was nothing but amazing. Just like two kids in a sweet shop with loads of buttons to press, they took a look around the event and checked out all the shiny new machines that were on display.

They managed to see our amazing friends on the Zirocco stands and discussed how QMS have integrated 3 new machines into the fleet after being amazed seeing them at a previous exhibition. We also spoke on the addition of new fuel cans we have purchased which improve the usability of the machine and reduces the risk of environmental impact.

They also had a catch up with the guys from Kelly Bros regarding the bogus company pretending to be QMS across the sea.

It was then time to sit and enjoy the speakers and indulge in their amazing presentations.

Jan Hofmann discussed an interesting view on the airless paint pump system and how they have engineered out the problems that people can come across by developing a new system.

Just as we thought line marking couldn’t get any more interesting; Dr. Prof. Andre Bresges presented some interesting points on how road line markings are perceived in different people’s minds and what part of the brain processes the information.

After a heavy lunch, it was time for the demonstrations 😊

Greg and Liam observed the practical demonstrations of the machines which included a lot few cold-applied systems. The H33-4 machine was a 2-component airless sprayable cold plastic application with AMAKOS ® pump.

After an exciting day looking at new machines and Greg and Liam catching their eyes on a couple, it was time for them to celebrate a night of festivities at the road line markers bar. The Octoberfest style was brilliant alongside some casual networking. It is safe to say they had a great time at the Hofmann Expo.

The community and the buzz that came to the Hofmann Expo was contagious, Greg and Liam were very pleased with it being their first time at the exhibition.

There has been a couple of crews doing the lining and antiskid works local to me on the new surfacing project on Callington road, Tavistock and the quality of work is spot on. Its done nothing but rain here for the last 2 months and as someone who spent over 25 years lining I can appreciate what they`ve been up against, especially with anti skid and MMA lining materials.
