Frequently Asked Questions

Resin bound refers to a surfacing solution, manufactured using a mixture of resin and a stone aggregate. Once cured, the solution creates a smooth, hardened and durable surface which can be used for a range of purposes, including residential or commercial driveways.

At QMS, we know that your driveways and pathways are an extension of you and it’s important to put your personal stamp on them. Which is why, we can customise your driveway’s resin and aggregate mixture to best suit your needs and have a wide range of colours to choose from.

To ensure your resin driveway continues to look brand new, we do recommend that you regularly maintain your driveway.

To do this, we recommend pressure washing your driveway, BUT the powerwasher must be set at a moderate pressure (between 1,000 and 2,500 psi) to avoid damaging your resin surfacing. A wide spray nozzle should also be used and the concentrated force should be applied for a distance.

Yes. Based on research by Yopa, adding a resin bound driveway can increase your property value by typically 5% to 10% as it strongly enhances your kerb appeal. The average house price in the UK is currently £268,319, this means the potential increase can range from £13,415.95 – £26,831.90.

You generally do not need planning permission for a resin-bound driveway, as it is fully porous and complaint with Sustainable Drainage Systems (SuDS).
