Edge line marking, also known as profiled edge lines or ribbed road markings, is a critical safety feature installed on motorways and dual carriageways throughout the UK.

These specialised road markings serve a dual purpose: providing highly visible edge of carriageway markings while creating an audible and tactile warning system for drivers.

Our Edge Line Marking Systems

EcoRib™ – Replacement & Rejuvenation System

EcoRib™ is specifically engineered for applications where existing ribbed edge lines have deteriorated beyond viable overmarking. This comprehensive two-machine process removes old markings and installs a complete new profiled system.

Applications:

Replacing ribbed markings worn below 6mm (motorways) or 3mm (dual-carriageways)
Restoring crumbling or delaminating edge line systems
Major highway refurbishment projects requiring complete edge line renewal

System Composition:
EcoRib™ combines a durable Methyl Methacrylate (MMA) resin rib structure with HyperLine™ ULTRA acrylic overspray. This two-stage process creates both the tactile profile and a smooth, highly reflective surface layer that optimises water run-off and maximises visibility.

EcoRib+™ – Premium New Installation

EcoRib+™ is a premium edge line marking system best suited for new surfacing projects or locations where no previous edge line marking has been installed. This single-application system delivers exceptional durability and performance.

New road construction and surfacing projects
First-time edge line installations on motorways and dual carriageways
High-specification projects requiring extended service life

System Composition:
EcoRib+™ utilises a single-stage application of two-component MMA viscous resin with integrated high-index glass bead technology. The precision-controlled process creates the ribbed profile and retro-reflective surface in one efficient installation.

Both systems are BS1436 certified (P5, R3, RR2, RW2, S2, Q2) and fully compliant with TSRGD Diagrams 1012.2 and 1012.3. Installation uses computer-controlled equipment, ensuring precise rib spacing and height for consistent quality.
