Transform roads into safe driving environments with our BBA HAPAS Type 1 approved high friction road surfacing. Our rapid-cure, crack-resistant solution delivers superior grip where it matters most – with a 5-year guarantee that provides complete peace of mind. Working across the UK, we specialise in creating safe stopping distances in areas including:
After years of research and development and eliminating common pain points with previous systems, we developed our own high performing anti skid road material – QMS HyperGrip™
Our cold applied high friction, anti skid system combines a durable Methyl Methacrylate (MMA) based resin binder, with calcined bauxite – a high-friction aggregate material. The unique properties increase traction, helping drivers maintain better control of their vehicle.
When developing the system, we wanted the best for our clients which is why our benefits extend to:
QMS HyperGrip™ is a two component Methyl Methacrylate BBA HAPA Type 1 high friction surfacing system. BBA Type 1 approved indicates a high-quality product that meets stringent requirements for durability, skid resistance, and application.

Cold applied high friction surfacing is expected to last over 12 years in comparison to hot applied which will only last 8 years. Providing a significant increase.
QMS Limited is a road marking and specialist surfacing contractor that has been delivering high friction surface treatments to the industry since 2001.
QMS HyperGrip™ is fully approved for use on UK Highways and is available to instantly improve the friction of any carriageway. Each location is installed with a five-year guarantee to deliver ultimate peace of mind to the engineer.
HyperGrip™ is a Methyl Methacrylate two-component system, fully compliant with BBA HAPAS Type 1 and can be installed on existing surfaces or a new bituminous surface after only 12 hours.
High Friction Surfacing is a specialised treatment applied to a road surface designed to dramatically improve surface grip, by ultimately reducing the stopping distance of travelling vehicles during wet and dry conditions.
Integrated in the material is calcined bauxite. A study in the 1950’s and 60’s concluded that calcined bauxite outperformed all other aggregates.
Unlike regular asphalt, which becomes smooth and slippery over time, HFS creates a rough textured surface that increases grip especially in wet and icy weather conditions. This extra grip reduces the chances of skidding, sliding, and losing control of a vehicle, which in turn helps prevent accidents.
QMS HyperGrip™ is a high friction anti-skid surface with a difference. Unlike other solutions on the market, QMS HyperGrip™ will not crack, look unattractive or take a long time to cure.
Designed to help significantly increase the friction of the road surfacing, the QMS HyperGrip™ surfacing solution will help to reduce the stopping distance when brakes are applied whilst the car is on or approaching the anti-skid surface.
When the tyres of a fast, oncoming vehicle meet with the high friction, anti-skid surface, the friction and the thousands of micro-tecture contact points, slow down the vehicle. As the vehicle will need more energy to counteract the resistance that the QMS HyperGrip™ is applying to the moving vehicle.
