Road Safety Markings Association 2026 Conference

February 5th, 2026, marked a significant milestone in the road safety industry as the Road Safety Markings Association (RSMA) celebrated its 50th anniversary with an inspiring annual conference. Our team at QMS was proud to attend this landmark event, with Contracts Managers Shaun and Brad, Operations Manager Liam, and Marketing Specialist Virginia representing our commitment to excellence in road safety markings.

The RSMA Annual Conference has established itself as the premier gathering for road marking professionals, highway maintenance specialists, and road safety experts across the UK. This year’s celebration was particularly special, bringing together half a century of industry knowledge, innovation, and expertise under one roof.

Conference Highlights

The conference theme perfectly captured the spirit of the occasion: looking back at how things have changed over the last 50 years, but also forward, at technology, safety and what the next 50 years might look like.

The conference speakers all highlighted practical steps for evolving our industry. One of the most compelling sessions focused on recruitment challenges in the road marking industry. Like many construction and highway sectors, road safety markings have traditionally been a male-dominated field. However, the industry is evolving, and forward-thinking companies are implementing strategies to attract a more diverse workforce.

Dr. Suzy Charman from the Road Safety Foundation delivered a captivating presentation that traced the remarkable innovations that have shaped road safety over five decades. Her expertise and charisma made for a truly memorable session that honoured the past while inspiring us about the future.

The RSMA continues to excel at bringing the road safety community together, and this year’s conference was no exception. The day concluded with an awards dinner where we enjoyed the company of our friends at Re-flow and Kelly Bros – a perfect end to an inspiring event.
