September has been another busy month at QMS, with plenty happening across the business and a few things worth celebrating along the way. Here’s a look at what the team has been up to this month, both on and off the road.
Speaking up in a room full of colleagues isn’t easy for everyone.
At our recent Safety and Well-being Stand Down at Holne Park, we brought the entire team off-site to focus on safety, communication, and looking out for one another. We used anonymous live Q&A tools so every staff member had a voice, alongside honest conversations about site life and mental health.
We wrapped up the day with an evening BBQ to thank our team and their families. Long hours and time away from home affect families too, and their support is one of the reasons why we’ve reached 25 years. Read the full recap of our 2026 Stand Down, including how a quick 30-second exercise set the tone for the entire day, on our website.
Two very happy golfers, and they have the trophy to prove it! Dean, Greg, Matt and Paul brought the CIHT Locan Cup 2026 home for the South West with a team score of 82. And as if that wasn’t enough, Greg and Dean also smashed it as a pair, with the best pair score of the day at 47! This one was for Pete and Peter!
Our MD Greg Clark travelled to Meon HQ for a demo of the 98:2 MMA machine and following a successful visit we have purchased an additional machine for our fleet. It will support our non-highway line marking operations after securing a national distribution network framework.
A big welcome to Jessica, who’s joined QMS as an Assistant Estimator!
Jessica brings a fresh Business Management degree and an analytical mindset, ready to dive deep into the industry. We’re excited to support her next career chapter as she helps us build accurate, reliable quotes for our clients. Great to have you on the team, Jessica!
The Exeter Chiefs are back in action for the new season, and we’re right behind them. We’re continuing our sponsorship of Ethan Roots, who wasted no time in the new season and scored a try against both Gloucester and Bristol Bears. We’ve also officially become the sponsor of the Chiefs’ Line Out, which, if we don’t say so ourselves, suits a line marking company quite well. You’ll spot us on the screen at Sandy Park.
Meet David, our Health and Safety Manager at QMS. He joined the team in June 2026, but he wasn’t new to us. David had worked with QMS as a client for around 10 years before that, so he already knew the people and the way we work.
Working with the teams and wider management, David’s focus is on making sure health and safety underpins everything we do, so the work is done properly and everyone gets home safely at the end of the day. That also means investing in the team through training and development.
