When we took on the sponsorship of Brixham Rugby U14’s, we knew we were backing a good group. What this season has shown us is just how special that group really is.
This season, we pushed ourselves to be more involved and give the squad more opportunities, from kitting them out in new training gear and sub coats to helping create moments that will last a lifetime. It’s been a year we won’t forget, and we hope they won’t either.
Stepping up into U14 rugby is a significant jump, introducing a much more physical, structured, and demanding level of the game. The boys responded to the challenge brilliantly over a demanding 25-match season:
Some standout individual milestones highlighted this attacking ambition. Toby delivered another unbelievable back-to-back season with 70 tries, but the true strength of the squad showed in their depth. Eight other players got themselves onto the scoresheet, including Ashton with 15 tries and Hugo with 9.
As sponsors of both Brixham Rugby U14’s and Exeter Chiefs’ Ethan Roots, we worked with the club to give the boys a training session and behind-the-scenes tour with Ethan at Sandy Park. This gave us the chance to bring together two of our sponsorships in a way that felt genuinely meaningful and that we hope they’ll be talking about for years to come.
Brixham U14’s were also given the opportunity to experience a gameday match at Sandy Park to watch Exeter Chiefs take on Bristol Bears. And after the final whistle, they got to meet Ethan for photos and signings. For a group of young lads who give everything for their club every Sunday, having a professional player invest his time in them means a great deal.
We recently joined the boys, their families, and the coaching team to round off the season properly. Our Managing Director, Greg Clark, was proud to attend on behalf of QMS and present one of the awards on the night, which was a small moment that meant a lot to us as sponsors.
We even managed to surprise the team when Ethan Roots walked through the door. The boys had already had one unforgettable experience with him at Sandy Park — and here he was again, presenting the team with an award. It was a moment that brought the whole year full circle, and judging by the reaction in the room, they definitely weren’t expecting it.
Greg also came away with something special himself. A Brixham shirt, gifted by the club. It’ll have a proud home at QMS.

We look forward to continuing to support the team next season!
