Business Review Day (BRD) 2025

After the 2024 session being a massive success with amazing feedback from the guys on the ground, we thought it only right to return for the annual QMS Gameshow for our health and safety return to work.

It’s essential that we have regular meetings with the teams to get important messages across – but why does this have to be a one-way process? We need to make sure we inform our teams on updates to policies, process and the position of the business. This is why on day one we covered off items in relation to our ISO 9001, 14001 & 45001 accreditations in a panel presentation that included the use of Menti to encourage the engagement from the team. Furthermore, to ensure that we remain compliant and work to the set standards that creates the framework that we all work to.

We wrapped the day up with an afternoon of Karting at the amazing Dunkeswell Karting Circuit in Honiton where the teams went head-to-head in an endurance race of six teams to get the most laps and fastest lap prizes that gave them a head start on points for the Gameshow 2025, well done to Lee for getting the fastest lap!

Why does it have to be a boring “sit and listen” process?

We started day two with the issue of the new 2025 Game show t-shirts supplied by PVM and a hot breakfast for everyone before former Exeter Chief turned host extraordinaire Chris Bentley introduced the day with a bang. Chris got the hearts beating and adrenaline pumping to get the teams warmed up leading into the first round.

The format for day two was based around the information delivered and discussed on day one that included our three ISO standards as a framework for the event. We had nine rounds, six teams and a team of LifeLines, together with guest appearances from Rob Shearing from the RSMA with a question relating to the ORAS and our very own CEO Ralph Clark who asked some important questions about the history of QMS!

With the rounds underway and the buzzers getting a massive workout, it was clear that the information discussed during day one was well retained and it was encouraging to see how passionate our operational team where about the their knowledge of the business and industry. The points were racking up for the teams by this point.

Time for the final round!

Thanks to the format of the day, the teams had managed to build up plenty of points which was handy as they had to bet on the winner of the final round, Beat the Bruce!

This round saw the reigning champ Bruce “Magic Fingers” Clark going head-to-head with Chris “Bentos” Bentley as he attempted to row 500m on the rowing machine before Bruce completed his Rubix Cube, you can watch the video HERE. It was a close round and Chris was only 60m from the finish in a staggering two minute battle.

With the 2 days wrapped up and the teams feeling energised, it has given us a positive outlook for the year ahead and we can’t wait to see the guys get out there and deliver the works with the same passion that they had on the Gameshow.
