Giving Back Across Devon: QMS and Hospiscare in 2026

When we chose Hospiscare as our charity partner for 2026, we wanted to support an organisation making a real difference to people and families across Devon.

Hospiscare provides specialist palliative and end-of-life care to almost 2,200 people each year across Exeter, Mid and East Devon. This year, we’ve supported that work through racing around a karting track, hosting our annual golf day in support of Hospiscare alongside a commitment from our team that happens quietly every month.

So far, it has taken our fundraising total beyond £10,600.

Devon Business League

We joined the Construction Cup, a karting league run by Raceworld in Exeter as part of the Devon Business League. Across the last two seasons, the league has raised more than £282,000 for Hospiscare. Teams earn points for their results on track and their fundraising off it. QMS entered as a joint team with Carysil, racing in all four events held so far this year. We won’t pretend we’ve been at the top of the leaderboard every time…

What has stuck with us is the team itself, how we have cheered each other on lap after lap from the sidelines, whatever the position on the timing screen. That’s turned out to be the real point of showing up.

Fairway to Devon 2026 Golf Day

Away from the track, our annual Fairway to Devon golf day 2026 returned to Dainton Park Golf Club for its eighth year, the event Greg Clark founded to bring people together for a good cause. For the first time, it raised money for Hospiscare, and the day fundraised a total of £8,317.40, its highest total yet. Georgia Brooks from Hospiscare joined us on the day and put that figure into context: it covers a week of round-the-clock inpatient care for a patient, plus twenty hours of a specialist nurse visiting someone at home.

Suddenly, the number on the fundraising total wasn’t just a number. It represented time. It represented care. It represented the people who make it possible for someone to receive specialist support in the comfort of their own home, or for a family to have the reassurance of round-the-clock care when they need it most.

That was the moment the scale of what everyone had achieved really hit home.

The Silent Contribution

Every month, QMS staff have committed to donating 1% of their salary to Hospiscare, a quieter contribution that keeps the support going.

Between the racing and the golf day and everything in between, we’ve now raised over £10,600 for Hospiscare this year, with the Construction Cup season continuing through the Super Final in October and the Gala Awards evening at Sandy Park in November.

We’re incredibly proud of what the QMS team, our sponsors and everyone who has supported our fundraising have helped achieve this year.

Most importantly, we know exactly where that money is going and the difference it can make to people across Devon.
