QMS adopt the new COP for traffic management across Devon

At QMS we pride ourselves in continually implementing strategies to improve our efficiency in completing work for clients and customers to ensure we are delivering excellence on time every time, including adapting to the new traffic management code of practice by the Road Safety Marking Association.

Why do traffic management vehicles matter?

One of the main functions of traffic management vehicles is to create a safe working environment for road workers and ensure the safety of road users and pedestrians. In addition to bright flashing lights and signs, cones and barriers are used to divert traffic away from the area where the work is being carried out and provide a safe route for the public to navigate the works area reducing the risk of accidents and injuries.

How it will help us with our Devon Junction Scheme!

At QMS we are working very closely with Devon County Council to remove thermoplastic line markings and replace them with cold-applied systems (MMA) across their road network, in particular junction markings. In comparison to thermoplastic, MMA offers high-performance long-lasting results, and who doesn’t want that?

MMA, thanks to its design and durability is a more environmentally friendly road marking product and is a great leap in the right direction for Devon County Council by not only bringing down their carbon footprint but also reducing the number of microplastics in our beautiful oceans.

Our investment in the new traffic management vehicles and use of the updated COP is ensuring we deliver the project on time, every time.
