Road Safety Markings Association Turns 50 – We Were There to Celebrate

The Road Safety Markings Association marked its 50th anniversary with its Annual Conference and Awards Dinner on 5th February, and QMS was proud to have a strong team in the room. The day balanced looking back at five decades of progress with looking forward at the technology and safety challenges ahead – exactly the kind of conversation our industry needs. A great evening followed with friends at Re-flow Field Management and Kelly Bros International.

Greg at ATSSA 2026, Houston

Managing Director Greg Clark MCIHT headed to Houston for the ATSSA Conference, one of the biggest events in the global road marking calendar. Worker safety, robotics, automatic pre-marking systems, and next-generation retro-reflectometry were among the highlights – with some genuinely exciting technology that’ll be keeping a close eye on.

A Brilliant Month for Our Sponsored Player, Ethan Roots

It would be hard to write a February round-up without a mention of Ethan Roots. Our sponsored Exeter Chiefs back-rower has had an outstanding month on the pitch.

Ethan captained England A against an Ireland XV at Thomond Park on 6th February and delivered a captain’s performance to remember. England won 52-14, with Ethan scoring two tries and leading with the physicality and authority that Chiefs fans know well. He then came straight back to Sandy Park and captained Exeter in back-to-back home PREM Rugby Cup wins; first against Gloucester on Valentine’s Day, then against Bath, helping drive the Chiefs into the semi-finals.

Fairway to Devon 2026 is back

We officially launched Fairway to Devon 2026 this month, and the response has been brilliant with 50% of team spots already taken. Now in its 8th year, the event returns to Dainton Park Golf Club, Newton Abbot on Friday 17th July 2026, raising money for Hospiscare – a charity that supports close to 2,200 people across Exeter, Central and East Devon every year.

This year we’re bringing in legendary trick-show performer David Edwards as headline guest, alongside returning favourites including “Beat the Pro” with Advanced Pro Hannah Bowen and Karaoke Klassics on the 15th hole. A full day of golf, entertainment, a carvery dinner and a £2,000 prize table – all for a genuinely important cause.

The Real Stars of February ⭐

Conferences and sponsorships are great, but the thing we’re most proud of every single month is our crew out on the ground doing the work. These two reviews from February say it better than we ever could.

The communication was excellent and the team worked hard to get the work completed on time, despite bad weather conditions. They kept us updated and the result was a newly marked car park marked to an excellent standard. – Tonya, Trustpilot ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

There has been a couple of crews doing the lining and antiskid works on the new surfacing project on Callington Road, Tavistock and the quality of work is spot on. It’s done nothing but rain here for the last 2 months and as someone who spent over 25 years lining I can appreciate what they’ve been up against, especially with anti skid and MMA lining materials. – Sam, Google ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Working through tough winter conditions without cutting corners, that’s the QMS team, and we couldn’t be prouder.

QMS Take to the Track for Hospiscare

February marked the start of something exciting. We completed round 1 of the Devon Business League karting competition at Raceworld Ltd Indoor Karting alongside our friends at CARYSIL UK, and with more races to come throughout the year, this is just the beginning. We are competing to raise vital funds for Hospiscare, who provide compassionate care for families across Devon at the most difficult times. Watch this space for updates, and if you would like to cheer us on from the sidelines, donations mean more than you know.
