QMS Supporting The Community.
QMS have always enjoyed supporting local business and charities, which is why when we where approached by Board Trustee Martin Smith for help at a local residential home, we where delighted to offer our services.
The Meadowside Coronation Hall in Newton Abbot is a newly refurbished unit that provides residents with a safe space to enjoy, whether its spending time with a family member or other residents. It is equipped with a top of the range high definition projector for movies, kitchens for baking and much much more.
The unit refurbishment has been carried out after an amazing fund raiser totalling over £60,000, with contributions from The Rotary Club, The Meadowside Charity and many more.
With the construction works complete and the building looking fresh it was time to make the dated concrete paths look as good as the building, there where several sections of path that needed some attention, we applied a hard wearing black MMA (Methyl Methacrylate) to sections of the drive to match in with a newly laid Tarmac surface and applied a buff coloured slip resistant resin bonded coating from our DecoSurf range to the main paths.
The buff coloured aggregate on the paths really completed the project and extended the fresh finish of the newly developed hall across the entrance and paths making it safer for the residents and visitors whilst giving it some extra kerb appeal!

Why was MMA and DecoSurf used?
MMA (Methyl Methacrylate) is a highly durable and hard wearing product that when combined with a hard wearing bauxite aggregate, like on this project, there isn’t much that will get through it.
The the resin bonded product from our DecoSurf range is quickly applied with reduced drying times, compared to other resin based treatments on the market.
The resin used for the paths on this project is a in house blend that we at QMS have developed over the years to take out all of the negative sides from all of the other products on the market, fast application with quick curing and extremely flexible.
There is a range of natural colours available and special blends can be created to suite any property or application whilst offering a some serious anti slip properties.
