RSMA Traffic Management

Recently, we had a visit from Rob Shearing to discuss the Road Safety Markings Association’s (RSMA) ‘Guidance for Temporary Traffic Management at Minor Static Road Marking Sites.’

RSMA Visit to QMS HQ

20 December 2024 Virginia Scheuerle

We started the day at QMS HQ where we introduced Rob Shearing, from the RSMA to one of the junction teams out using the system and discussing any feedback they had of the updated code of practice.

Ashley Kelly, Crew Supervisor ~ ‘We 100% feel safer after we have coned ourselves in’

Dejan Maric ~ ‘Ash is good at planning alternative routes, if there is a long diversion we won’t take up a whole road.’

After a brilliant discussion, we suited up in our PPE and headed out on site. The crew set up the traffic management system to complete one of the rural Devon Junctions.

Rob was impressed by our commitment to worker safety, particularly our addition of CCTV signs to deter abuse and provide our teams with a sense of security. He also observed the traffic passing by and was amazed at how the public reacted by slowing down as they passed the site.
