Large Resin Driveway Installation

QMS recently transformed the functionality and appearance of a privately owned property with the installation of DecoSurf resin driveway and pathway.

The property had a pre-existing driveway, which was on a steep incline and led down to the house. The whole project was fairly large and had several areas to navigate, including:

A steep driveway
Various rockeries, pathways and flowerbeds surrounding the driveway
Various tight angles and variations in the natural stone walls
Dips within the existing surfacing/landscape

How did QMS help with the resin driveway installation?

Understanding the intricacies of this particular project, QMS’s team of highly experienced and skilled resin driveway installers visited the property and were able to complete the project in a series of phases.

Most of our resin driveway transformations follow the same timeline, which includes:

1. Planning and Preparation

When completing a project, the team at QMS will always speak to the property owner, working with them to fully understand their needs and their vision for the project.

They will then:

Evaluate the site for suitability, drainage, and required materials.
Finalise the driveway layout, dimensions, and choice of resin and aggregate.
Remove any debris, old surfaces, grass, or vegetation

2. Preparing The Ground Work

As this project was fairly large, the team made sure that the ground was excavated to the appropriate depth and ensured the space was as clean and level as possible, ready for the resin and aggregates to be added.

3. Edging Installation

As this driveway had natural rock borders, there were a lot of indentions and rough edging to take into consideration across the whole driveway. The team prepared these areas and mapped out how the resin surfacing would blend with these areas.

4. Resin Application and Finishing

Once the team had mixed the resin and aggregate to the desired colour, then the resin was applied:

The resin is delivered to site and organised into mix, then we use a specialist mixer on site to mix the resin and aggregate and then we do the following

Installation: Spread the pre-mixed resin and aggregate evenly over the surface.
Levelling: Use a trowel to smooth the resin to the desired thickness (15-18mm for driveways).
Curing: Allow the resin to cure the rapid curing time of the resin means you will not have to wait to enjoy the new drive.before driving on it.
Inspection and Cleaning: Check for any imperfections, clean up excess materials, and ensure the surface is flawless.

The finished result? A fabulous driveway that will leave their neighbours and guests green with envy. The beautiful natural-looking finish of the driveway allows it to blend seamlessly into the surrounding countryside and their landscaping.

There has been a couple of crews doing the lining and antiskid works local to me on the new surfacing project on Callington road, Tavistock and the quality of work is spot on. Its done nothing but rain here for the last 2 months and as someone who spent over 25 years lining I can appreciate what they`ve been up against, especially with anti skid and MMA lining materials.
