Transform your domestic, commercial or industrial exterior with QMS’s expertly installed, durable and long-lasting surfacing solutions.
Since 2001, we’ve been installing specialist surface treatments across Devon and the UK, from anti-skid coatings on busy highways to beautiful resin bound driveways at home. Whatever the size of your project, our fully trained crews deliver the same world-class finish, on time, every time.
Our BBA HAPAS Type 1 approved high friction surfacing, QMS HyperGrip™, dramatically improves grip and reduces stopping distances in high-risk road areas such as junctions, roundabouts, crossings and steep gradients. Cold-applied, fast-curing and crack-free, every installation comes with a five-year guarantee. Not sure if it’s right for your site? Read our guide to high friction surfacing.
We’re trusted at the highest level. See our high friction surfacing work for Highways England.

Road surfacing is the application of a hard-wearing top layer to roads, pathways and other trafficked areas to improve grip, safety and durability. It covers everything from everyday asphalt to specialist treatments such as anti-skid high friction surfacing, which is installed at junctions, crossings and other high-risk locations to reduce stopping distances. At QMS, we specialise in these surface treatments, including our BBA HAPAS Type 1 approved HyperGrip™ system. You can read more in our high friction surfacing guide.
The frequency of road resurfacing can vary greatly depending on several factors, including traffic volume, weather conditions, and the quality of the initial construction.
Generally, roads should be resurfaced every 10 to 15 years to maintain optimal safety and performance. However, heavily trafficked roads or those exposed to harsh weather may require more frequent attention, sometimes as often as every 5 to 7 years. In high-risk areas such as junctions and crossings, applying anti-skid high friction surfacing can restore grip without the cost of a full resurface, with cold-applied systems lasting over 12 years.
Regular inspections can help identify wear and damage early, allowing for timely maintenance that can extend the lifespan of the road and minimise long-term costs. And remember, once a road has been resurfaced, highway line markings will need to be reinstated too, which our crews can install as part of the same visit.
Temperature, humidity, and precipitation can have a direct effect on the longevity of your road surfacing. For instance, extreme heat can cause asphalt to soften and lose its structural integrity, while cold temperatures may hinder the proper adhesion of surfacing materials, increasing the risk of cracking and premature failure. Rain and moisture can also complicate the curing process, leading to inadequate bonding and a weakened surface.
This is why the choice of material matters. Our cold-applied HyperGrip™ system was developed to avoid the cracking and curing problems associated with traditional hot-applied high friction surfacing, while our permeable resin bound surfacing allows rainwater to drain through rather than pool on the surface.

Addressing these symptoms promptly can enhance road safety and extend the lifespan of the infrastructure.
